About us
Our story began as two students determined to reimagine the role doors play in buildings. Today, through innovation, craftsmanship, and technical expertise, we create doors that shape beautiful, comfortable, and quiet spaces.
2013 - A Door is Born
VanAir Design began as a university project at the University of British Columbia, where Vick and James met and developed a new approach to ventilation rooted in design, sustainability, and acoustics.
By graduation, they had their first orders and VanAir (a tribute to the fresh ocean and mountain air in Vancouver, BC) took shape.
2016 - Development & Partnership
As demand grew, Vick and James moved into Vancouver’s Parker Street Studios to refine and produce early versions of the door. Following extensive R&D and prototyping, VanAir was awarded multiple patents and partnered with Lynden Door to bring the product to market in 2016.
2023 - Expansion
In 2023, VanAir moved into a new facility in Burnaby, BC. With state-of-the-art equipment and modern production capabilities, equipped to handle projects of any scale or complexity.
